Specialties / Trauma & Anxiety

Therapy that moves at the pace your nervous system says is safe.

Anxiety and trauma often travel together. One keeps you scanning for the next thing to brace against. The other keeps an older thing from finishing. Here we work through anything that’s left a mark.

Areas of support

The shapes this can take.

Labels help. They’re not the whole story.

Generalized Anxiety

The worry that jumps from one thing to the next and never quite turns off. We work on what's underneath it, not just the thoughts on the surface.

Panic & Health Anxiety

When fear shows up in the body without an obvious reason. We work on understanding what's triggering it and giving you something real to do about it.

Depression

When you feel exhausted, unmotivated, or disconnected from the things that usually matter to you. We look at what’s underneath the heaviness and what might help you start feeling more like yourself again.

PTSD

After a specific event, when the past keeps showing up in the present. EMDR is often a good fit here and we'll talk through whether that makes sense for you.

Complex & Developmental Trauma

When the hard thing wasn't one event but a long pattern. Childhood, relationships, years of something that never got named. This work moves slower and that's intentional.

Burnout & Chronic Stress

For the people who've been the strong one for too long. The goal isn't just rest. It's figuring out why stopping feels harder than it should.

A note on the work

The goal isn't to forget what happened. It's to remember it without your body reacting like it's still happening.

Common questions

FAQ

Does what I went through count as trauma?

Trauma isn’t a ranking. It’s not about how bad it sounds out loud. If it’s still shaping how you move through your life, that’s reason enough to bring it in.

EMDR is a structured approach to processing experiences that are still showing up in the present even when you wish they wouldn’t. It doesn’t require you to narrate every detail out loud. You stay in control of the pace throughout. Whether it makes sense for you depends on what we’re working with. It’s not the right fit for every situation but when it is, it tends to move things that talking alone doesn’t.

That’s normal. Part of early sessions is sorting through what’s actually going on. Anxiety, trauma response, depression, some combination. We figure out what we’re actually working with before we decide how to work on it.

Yes. EMDR and other trauma work translate well to telehealth for many adults. We’ll talk about what fits your situation and adjust as we go.

It depends on what we’re working with. Some focused issues move in a few months. Longer patterns and complex trauma take longer, and we’ll talk openly about pacing along the way.
